Author Frank Urbanic share's stories from his
new book We Were Prepared: Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts Stories of Tragedy,
Heroism, and Preparedness in the Texas City Disaster of 1947. “Never before
told stories of how Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts were mobilized for emergency
services, some as first responders, during the Texas City Disaster of
1947." A book signing will conclude the event.
