Emily Rives: featured FPL artist beginning July




Emily Rives is from Friendswood, Texas and specializes in the fine arts of painting and drawing.   

Emily has shown her artwork in many art competitions over the past few years.  She has won “Best in Show” for Friendswood Independent School District for the past two consecutive years (2013 and 2014) at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Student Art Competition, placing her in the top 5% of over 300,000 entries.  In November Emily won 1st Place in the 2013 “Brushes By The Beach” Plein Air juried competition in Galveston.  Recently, she won 1st place in the 2014 Texas City Arts Festival juried art competition.  In addition, she has completed commissioned work in and around the Houston area as well as the Texas Hill Country for private collections and some local businesses.

Having recently graduated from Friendswood High School, Emily has been accepted into Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida where she plans to pursue a degree in Fine Arts.  Ringling is one of the top art colleges in the country.
